Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced Friday that he will run for a second term in March elections.
"Let me announce my candidacy for a new term, and I hope you will show the world your participation in the presidential elections, regardless of choice," Sissi said in a commentary on his official Facebook page.

The National Electoral Commission in Egypt, announced in early January that the upcoming presidential elections will be held in March in two stages.

In the first stage, elections will take place on March 16, 17 and 18, while citizens will vote on March 26, 27 and 28.

So far, none of the "dissidents" has announced his intention to run in the elections, with the exception of left-wing human rights lawyer Khaled Ali, who is facing public dishonesty, while independent candidates have announced their intention to run in the race, including Zamalek president Morteza Mansour.

The National Electoral Commission requires the collection of about 25 thousand power of attorney, from 15 provinces, or the signatures of 20 deputies in parliament, to run for president
